Q: Using data-visa-5.js
Trying to get the menu to start collapsed rather than fully expanded.
Thought it was the var texpanded=0 setting but doesn't seem to have any effect.
A: See, when you set + sign before item's text that is mean that thisitem will be expanded.

Q: I am trying to figure out how to make multiple clickable link popup windows on the same page.
A: You can do it in two ways:
1) Call different data files with DIFFERENT winID:"window1"!
2) Call only one data file and use deluxePopupWindow.open() function to open your windows:

Q: I would like to use it in a page containing two iFrames.
The iFrame called "nav" is where the menu will appear and the iFrame called "main" is where I want any sub-menu items to appear.
How can this be done given there are no "frameset" tags in this type of structure?
A: JavaScript Tree Menu doesn't work with <IFrame> objects.
It works with<frameset> objects only. All it can to do with <IFrame> is to loadpages into it.
You should use standard installation for the menu.
Q: Is there a convenient template somewhere that allows me to have a standard windows tree control menu that stays open so that the user does not lose track of himself.

You can expand any items when you load your page.
You should add "+" symbol before the item text. For example:
